dell xp sp 2 - Forum

i need a dell windows xp sp2 install disk. it has to be for a dell. im installing it on a dimension 2400. anyone help or direct me?

Did the system come with a xp installation disk & are you using the original HDD?
If it is the original HDD & the pc didn't come with installation disk there should be a hidden partition with a mirror of the Operating system.
Have a go at hitting Ctrl+F11 on boot, from what I remember this should take it back to factory installed XP as it came out of the box.
Then download service pack 2 & 3 from microsoft.

they tried installing from another disk and all they get is 30 day trial. seems that install wiped out the original install. so i need a new disk.

I can upload my dell xpsp2 disk but you have to make it bootable which
is not an easy task, as it shows here
